As a psychotherapist, I partner with individuals who want to work with/on their relationships, family dynamics, trauma (past or present), grief, identity, anxiety, and/or depression. My primary specialty is working with adults who experienced attachment trauma or grew up in a dysfunctional household, working to resolve how those experiences are manifesting negatively in the present. Additionally, I specialize in relationship issues and grief. I work with people who are highly motivated to engage in their own healing process in order to grow, change, and cultivate possibilities.

Are past events causing you pain? Do you find yourself feeling stuck or out of control? Do you want to find a path forward? This path starts with your brave choice to engage in therapy and doing the work to make a change. I believe that therapy can be a tool to help people process the past, build skills for the present and move forward with more awareness and an ability to create the life that they want to live. Our emotional pain doesn't just have to be tolerated or managed. Together we can find a path towards recovery so you can move forward with more self awareness, understanding and control.

I am so glad you are here. It is incredibly brave to take this step toward connecting with others in a way that will inevitably ask a lot of you. Therapy requires you to be raw and vulnerable. I believe in creating a space that allows for the comfortable and uncomfortable parts of processing, leading to personal and mutual growth. Maybe we’ll work in the expansive outdoors or an inviting indoor space. Imagine a space that is warm, open-minded, and open-hearted and can support all that you bring. I create a space that honors social, cultural, economic, and spiritual differences and similarities.

You may be someone who has spent years holding everything together for everyone else; high-functioning on the outside, but internally exhausted, anxious, disconnected, or stuck in patterns you can’t shake. Maybe you grew up in a dysfunctional or emotionally unsafe household and learned to silence your needs to survive. Or you’re a veteran carrying pain few understand, trying to navigate life beyond what you’ve endured. You’re ready for real change, more peace, more clarity, healthier relationships, and freedom from past wounds.

I love working with couples! A flourishing relationship gives us access to a more fulfilled life. When we feel seen, understood and supported...we thrive! In couples work, we better our skills in communication, vulnerability and emotional regulation...the result: more empathy, patience, forgiveness, tolerance and resiliency during painful anger, conflict and difference. It is my sole purpose to help individuals cultivate meaningful connection and trust within themselves and their partners. Don't let old stories and stuck behavior keep you from learning, expanding and healing. I do believe in hope and transformation!

Sometimes life can feel fast-paced, oppressive, and overwhelming. Nature reminds us that we have access to our own internal resilience, peace, and wisdom. My passion lies in helping individuals navigate the terrain on their unique path to personal growth, self-discovery, and healing. Stress, anxiety, and fear are just some of the feelings that can make us feel stuck, disconnected, or lost. However, the empowering truth is that they don’t have to define us. Together, let’s embark on a transformative journey where we explore these emotions as powerful catalysts for change.

It is hard to be a friend to yourself right now, and you need some additional support. You may be struggling to manage intense emotions, which is causing behavioral, functional, or relational problems. Perhaps you are holding things together on the outside, but you're suffering from painful emotions on the inside. You may be unable to shake old feelings or beliefs about yourself, even though you know you have grown.

I believe each client carries the answers within themselves; my role as therapist is to help bring both the unconscious struggles and the healing potential into awareness, where they can be integrated for symptom relief and more fulfilling relationships. I work with individuals and couples navigating emotional or relational challenges, fear about the future, depression, overwhelm, mood instability, grief, loss, and trauma. In therapy, you can expect a calm, empathic, and safe space where together we create a non-judgemental and trustworthy environment to explore your inner life and chart a natural course of treatment.

If you're here, I can imagine you’re carrying a lot—stress, anxiety, trauma, or old patterns that show up in relationships or daily life. You want to feel calmer in your body, clearer in your mind, and more like yourself. You’re ready for a space where you can be messy, human, and real—and start untangling what’s been weighing on you in a way that actually feels possible.

My objective is to empower people to find answers within themselves. Sometimes this is most accessible by relating to another person one on one through words; sometimes it is best achieved by having transformative experiences in group settings, and sometimes through the medium of art and music. Each individual and the story of their lives calls for different modes of connection and development in the process of achieving integration and wholeness.

The human experience is rich, messy, and complex. If you are depressed, anxious, struggling in relationships, or experiencing existential dread, you are not alone, and deserve support. It is my privilege to be with you in these darker places, to help make sense of your experience and to discover new possibilities together. Knowing and opening to different parts of yourself is liberating, and can change how you relate to your world. You have more potential for freedom than you think! Additionally, I strongly believe in the healing power of humor, both inside and outside of the therapy room. I genuinely enjoy being with clients.

How can I find a therapist in Colorado University?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
