Much of my clinical experience has focused on treating adolescents and young adults impacted by trauma or ongoing, severe mental health conditions.
My job as a therapist is to make space for your stories, your values, and your authentic self. I have over a decade of experience working with adolescents and adults from a wide array of backgrounds and specialize in working with individuals contending with trauma , depression, anxiety, and/or suicidal ideation. Multiple treatment modalities inform my practice, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma -Focused Therapy. I strongly believe, though, that the therapeutic relationship is the greatest predictor of progress.

Over the years I've grown from a highly trained neuropsychotherapy trauma -model, into one that always starts with a Rogerian approach - one that's personable, real, and authentic.
Change is hard. Growing into the best version of yourself is worth it. I've been practicing for over 20 years and have grown to believe kindness and authenticity are the key to helping people get unstuck. I've worked with clients all over the world as a trauma and relationship specialist. I think it's an honor to help people when they need it most. I love the mentality of Kintsugi, the idea that our vulnerabilities (and sometimes scars) are what make us the most beautiful and unique. Everyone deserves love, however that looks.

I have been practicing psychotherapy for seven years and specialize in adults struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships issues and PTSD .
Traveling through your journey in life is a powerful experience with unexpected bumps in the road, often creating feelings of uncertainty and self-doubt. When we experience thoughts and feelings that are uncomfortable such as depression, anxiety, stress, and changes in mood, we tend to also feel it physically in our bodies through lethargy, pain, and changes in sleep and weight. Inversely, what we put in our bodies often times impacts how we feel emotionally, without often times even knowing it. Using a mind-body therapeutic approach allows you to identify skills for a means of transformation in your emotional and physical life.

An evidenced-based dynamic treatment for trauma as well as other mental health struggles.
Sometimes events can take place in our life that change us forever. We try to do our best to pick up the pieces where they left us, but completing tasks, and interacting with others seems like a mountain we must climb. Sometimes we lock the pain away in order to get on with life, but no matter how hard we try the pain comes back. Contrary to popular belief, time does not always heal everything, sometimes you need a helping hand in order to get to the place your soul, body and heart need to be. It would be an honor to walk alongside you on that journey to a more healthy you and a healed heart.

Using EMDR & Pia Mellody's Post-Induction Therapy (PIT), I work with people like you with a variety of issues related to codependency, relational trauma , depression, anxiety, parenting struggles, relationship issues, & pregnancy/postpartum.
You're not sure why, but the people you love most: your kids, spouse, mother/father/siblings-have turned into triggers that bring out the worst in you. Despite your love for them, you find yourself acting in ways you swore you never would. You're yelling at your kids, always angry at your partner, and you feel like you're always failing. In short, you're hurting the people you love most. You want to show up for your loved ones with peace rather than chaos and stress. You want to ditch the feelings of not being enough.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
