My expertise includes working with individuals who have been surviving using coping skills such as addiction, binge eating, or struggling with boundaries with
family
and friends which may result in depression, anxiety, or other symptoms.
The process of therapy can be a powerful, life-changing experience. As we grow through gaining self-awareness, many of us seek balance from the head to the heart. We are all capable of conscious growth and seek support through connection. Whether your experience has been emotional, spiritual or physical pain, surviving trauma, broken relationships or addiction, there is healing to be discovered from our challenging experiences. Exploration of the self may inspire, transform, generate, and offer insight toward a conscious and whole-hearted life.

family
issues.
The concept of Peace is an integral part of my experiences & represents what I have seen others strive for in their struggles. Finding & developing Peace within one's life is an ongoing & proactive journey that often requires the support of others. This path to a sense of serenity and balance allows one not only to experience calm before the storm, but to be calm within the storm. Everyone deserves unconditional positive regard while developing their identity, making changes in their lives, or simply looking for validation within a non-judgmental environment.

Individual and
family
sessions are designed using integrated approaches to create a collaborative, individualized, and tailored experience to reach the goals of the
family
and the adolescent.
Hello and welcome. My passion is working with adolescents, young adults, and the families who support them. My connection with adolescents is built on trust, safety, comfort, respect, and understanding, which allows me to create relationships with teens that can be hard fought with other adults. Speaking what can seem to be a foreign language and creating a bridge to families through the translation of that language brings purpose to my work. I have over twelve years of experience working with adolescents and families in different capacities and have dedicated my career to working exclusively with this population.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of
family
forms that have experienced some difficulties in their lives.
As a parent of a child who is struggling, it is often hard to figure out how to best support them. You are constantly wondering what can I do to help them feel better? It may feel like you have tried everything, that nothing seems to work and that you are going through this alone. I look forward to the opportunity to support not only your child, but also yourself and your whole
family
with the struggles that you are experiencing. My approach to therapy involves a humanistic understanding of people, where I view clients as whole, understanding all of the systems they are apart of, rather than just the person who shows up in the room.

“What is wrong with me?” you think to yourself. You feel disconnected from others. You don’t feel as though anyone truly understands you or gets you. You keep talking to your
family
, friends, or partner about the same issue but there is no resolution. They keep asking, “What do you actually want?” but your mind goes blank. Or you know what you want, but you vocalizing your wants would hurt important people in your life. Or you don’t think what you want is important as you’ve navigated your entire life with putting your wants and needs last.

It is my belief that In order to feel happy and fulfilled, every person should excel in the following areas: be in good health, feel loved/accepted in personal relationships (partners, children,
family
), be successful in what he/she does (education, job, hobbies), and feel needed socially (belong to a group, be part of the community).

Due to Covid and some personal life changes, I will be offering online sessions only at this time. Being a parent is an incredibly overwhelming and rewarding role and in the same breath, sometimes it is not very easy to be kid trying to communicate with your parent either. Subscribing to the notion that no one child or
family
can "fit" into a box, I encourage confidence in individuality and assisting children and families in exploring their shared values and finding a way to use their "differences" as strengths. In
family therapy
, I strive to increase acceptance, understanding, and enjoyment in the
family
dynamic.

Family Therapy
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
