Struggling with sexual desire, arousal, orgasm, erection, ejaculation or overall confidence and comfort with sex is common. You are not alone, and overcoming these issues is possible. These struggles can be related to anxiety, discomfort with our bodies or pleasure, or previous negative sexual experiences. We often feel shame or embarrassment when talking about sex, even with our romantic and sexual partners. I offer an authentic, accepting and collaborative space for individuals who are seeking therapy to work through some of these issues.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and have been practicing for over 20 years. In my experience, those seeking therapy are looking for answers for how better to navigate their lives to ease emotional pain and find fulfillment within their lives. I believe that life's hurts primarily occur in relation to others and that healing often comes through
relationship
as well, sometimes by seeking a professional's guidance. You may discover that having someone walk alongside you in your journey for a time, acting as a witness to your stories, is an invaluable gift.

Change is hard. Growing into the best version of yourself is worth it. I've been practicing for over 20 years and have grown to believe kindness and authenticity are the key to helping people get unstuck. I've worked with clients all over the world as a trauma and
relationship
specialist. I think it's an honor to help people when they need it most. I love the mentality of Kintsugi, the idea that our vulnerabilities (and sometimes scars) are what make us the most beautiful and unique. Everyone deserves love, however that looks.

This can be the death of a loved one, end of a
relationship
, change in financial status, etc.
I view our life journey as a collection of experiences that influence who we are and how we see the world. We often experience (and can expect) to deal with hurdles and roadblocks that can make some days unbearable. This is where counseling comes in. I love joining alongside others and empowering them to keep making steps when they don’t think they can. I will always admit to any client that counseling is hard and applaud anyone who takes the step to reflect inward and grow. My hope and main priority are to create a space where ALL individuals feel safe enough to be their authentic selves.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
