I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with past trauma and substance use and an array of issues specific to the lesbian, gay, bisexual , and non-binary community. It takes a lot of courage to face some undesirable truths about oneself and inviting a therapist on this journey can be overwhelming. I hold a safe and non-judgemental space for my clients and practice from a place of compassion and acceptance. My hope is for you to gain insight and thrive throughout your life rather than just survive.

I work with gay, lesbian, bisexual , transgender, and gender non-conforming folk as well as those living with HIV. I specialize in a wide variety of concerns including but not limited to: substance use, depression/anxiety, trauma stemming from violence, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. My therapeutic style encompasses many techniques such as: Gestalt therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and guided imagery to help you rediscover your personal Truth. Together we can work to identify the obstacles blocking you from manifesting your dreams and empower you to create the change you deserve in your life.

Accepting new clients! My practice is trauma-informed, heart-centered, and somatically-based. Growing up, many of us were not taught how to compassionately respond to ourselves, which often leads to difficulty soothing ourselves in the face of painful emotions and critical thoughts. Our work together will center around mapping out your wounded parts and painful emotions in order to work towards healing and transformation. The concerns I specialize in include family-of-origin issues; abuse and trauma; mood and anxiety disorders; attachment and relational concerns; co-dependency; identity/existential crises; and self-esteem.

My initial session is at no cost. I am a Neurodivergent therapist. I have ADHD, combined type so I understand the gravity of finding the right clinician for your specific needs. I heavily subscribe to the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy framework, but pull from several different approaches to meet my clients where they are and support them in the ways they deem important. It is my philosophy that my job is to further facilitate this cycle of positive change and growth within my clients, regardless of whatever personal struggles and challenges they may bring to counseling. Healing can be a challenging process, especially healing wounds in relationships with our past, our partner, our family, and even our self. It can be daunting if finding resolution feels lonely, too difficult, or overwhelming, leaving us feeling disconnected and discouraged. In our desperate search for solutions to deal with the interpersonal conflicts, trauma, grief, and other wounds within these relationships, we may do more damage than good. Thankfully, there's hope in that you have the power to change these circumstances.

Sometimes, folx are concerned that their therapist is going to make them lie on a couch while they say nondescript and cryptic things like "hmmm" and "I see" and "how does that make you feel?" While I do ask the last question, I can promise that my client work is not that of the 1920s. I believe that you are the best expert on yourself and my role as your therapist is to help you uncover what you already know and put it into action. Reaching out to a therapist can be scary, but I hope you'll take that moment - perhaps after a few deep breaths - to give it a shot.

A large portion of my practice focuses on the economic and systemic influences of generational trauma within disenfranchised communities. Addressing trauma within cultural norms and family structures provides for a 360º vantage point of an individual’s world view. This is especially important when I am working with people of color, women, individuals of the LBGTQIA+ community, and any persons that comes from a minority status. Trauma and pain can be considered as muscle memory. This type of emotional memory can be passed down through generations and if left unexplored, can lead to emotional issues.
