There’s no greater freedom than living in your true self, a self authentically and lovingly connected to others. It’s how we are built. It’s how our children are built. Living the kind of balance many of us aspire to looks a heck of lot easier in print than it is in action. It takes work to integrate it all, but it is so worth it. I bring 14 years of doctoral + post-doctoral level training and 27 years of experience to best individualize the care. In Aspen, convenient therapy, consult and fun Developmental Play sessions. From California/Colorado, you may establish online adult/ adolescent therapy that keep up with you on the go.

If your teen is approaching crisis, you are scared, or at your wits end, an in-home family intensive will help your family return to calm. Intensives compress 6 months of weekly family therapy into a few days and provide a deeper and more cohesive result. We have time to explore, understand, learn, and practice in real-time, without a stopwatch. The decision to enter a family intensive may feel like a leap. It is a big commitment of time and resources yet will produce an exponential return on investment for your family and teen .

I have had a fun career with decades of experience working with individuals, couples, families, children, Olympic athletes, pilots, business owners, groups, and teenagers. I love people and guide all to higher personal satisfaction. Life taught that when I released inner passion, personal transformation was realized. Happiness comes from living authentically and I live that truth myself. 30 years as a bush pilot, racing vintage cars, riding motorcycles over Colorado mountains, 20 mile BMT ski races have all enhanced my clinical skills because living authentically affirmed my approach to happiness.

Teen Therapists
Adolescence can be a time of both disorientation and discovery. The transitional period can raise questions of independence and identity; as adolescents cultivate their sense of self, they may face difficult choices about academics, friendship, sexuality, gender identity, drugs, and alcohol.

Most teens have a relatively egocentric perspective on life; a state of mind that usually abates with age. They often focus on themselves and believe that everyone else—from a best friend to a distant crush—is focused on them too. They may grapple with insecurities and feelings of being judged. Relationships with family members often take a backseat to peer groups, romantic interests, and appearance, which teens perceive as increasingly important during this time.

The transition can naturally lead to anxiety about physical development, evolving relationships with others, and one's place in the larger world. Mild anxiety and other challenges are typical, but serious mental health conditions also emerge during adolescence.
