Many clients find that animals help lower anxiety, ease fears, and make it feel safer to open up.
Looking for a therapy experience that feels safe, comforting, and even a little magical, with the help of animals? Healing can begin with something as simple as the gentle presence of an animal. At our program, therapy is more than sitting in an office, it’s about building connection, safety, and trust in an environment where people and animals work together to support your healing journey.

Maybe your anxiety has increased and your normal coping skills aren't working.
Reaching out for help can be hard, so my goal is to create a space where clients feel seen and understood. Since everyone has unique needs, we may use things like art, mindfulness, play, somatic work, and conversation to achieve your goals. For parents and caregivers, I believe in taking a collaborative approach as we work together to support your child.

I specialize working with the queer community, trauma, life transitions, sexuality, gender, career counseling, anxiety, and depression.
Being a queer woman, I understand the hardship of trying to find a counselor that just “gets it” and has had a lived experience. My identities inform my personal and professional worldview by showing up and operating from a queer affirming, feminist, and client centered approach.

I specialize in treating women with body and self-worth concerns, as well as struggles with perfectionism or people-pleasing as a result of anxiety.
Do you feel disconnected from your body and struggle with body image or disordered eating? Do people-pleasing or perfectionism limit you? Would you like to feel more confident and self-assured to state your needs or assert a boundary? If yes, then I would love to meet you and see if I might be able to help. I work with female-identifying clients, (18+) who want to heal the relationship with their bodies, stop trying to be perfect, and build lasting self-worth and empowerment in all areas of life. I want to help women feel powerful, worthy, and confident and finally shed narratives of shame and perfectionism that hold them back.

I can help with trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and other life issues.
Trusting a therapist with thoughts and emotions we aren't comfortable facing ourselves can seem embarrassing and perhaps even terrifying. Therapy is a difficult process and I work to face those challenges with my clients head on. My mission is to help empower my clients to create positive life changes. I have been called blunt and no nonsense by my clients. Clients also say I have a calm demeanor that provides a balance to this approach. One client described my therapy style as putting puzzle pieces together to gain a clear picture of their thoughts and emotions.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
