About
I work with women and partners experiencing challenges related to pregnancy and/or the postpartum period. Common issues include: physical and emotional stress related to efforts to conceive; grief over pregnancy loss(es); ambivalence or anxiety about pregnancy and parenthood; postpartum depression and/or anxiety, and struggles related to the transition to parenthood, including difficulty bonding with one’s infant or challenges adjusting to new partnership dynamics.
I also have significant experience working in adoption and foster care, and with individuals experiencing life transitions, relationship challenges, identity and existential questions, and depression and mood disorders.
My decision to specialize in maternal mental health was partly inspired by my own journey to motherhood, but largely due to the perinatal challenges that many loved ones have faced. In recent years it has become increasingly important to me to work in the aid of women, and maternal mental health is woefully under-resourced.
