I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) and a registered play therapist (RPT). While I still work with children and adolescents on occasion, I have expanded my practice to work with more adults. I believe the foundation of counseling is building a trusting relationship with my clients and making them feel at ease. I approach therapy as an interactive process and I enjoy working collaboratively with clients and utilizing methods that best fit each individual's needs.
I have experience working with individuals dealing with presenting concerns such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief & loss, relationship issues, behavioral difficulties and trauma related issues. I believe my clients have what they need within themselves and work to help them find their own inner strength and voice as we work collaboratively.
I use solution focused and person centred therapy and utilize CBT/DBT approach with adolescents & adults to address thought patterns & develop positive coping skills as well as combining mindfulness techniques such as breath work to help with mind body connection. I use CCP with younger clients to allow clients to process challenges & communicate needs.
