Developing an awareness, understanding, and compassion for one's lived experience can help heal the pain causing distressing feelings. The work I do with people usually focuses on developing emotional depth to understand how old pain relates to current distress. I help people who are coping with sadness, frustration, anxiety, loneliness, and loss of meaning in their lives. In addition to providing individual therapy, I am also a Gottman-certified couples' therapist. I work with clients to fit their schedule.
It is important to me to provide culturally humble, trauma-informed therapy using a focus on attachment, interpersonal process, and an understanding of unhealthy systems (family, work, society, etc). I emphasize building trust, providing empathy, non-pathology, and understanding the context impairing your functioning.
I know it can be difficult to trust someone with our vulnerability... And sharing our lived and emotional experience with someone who attentively and empathically listens can be very healing. I look forward to talking with you about the possibility of working together. Received PhD from University of Utah and Bachelor's Degree from Cornell University.
