I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a mental health specialty in the state of Tennessee. I work with people who are 13 and older and specialize in addiction, self-harm, trauma, and grief. I am eclectic with my treatment approach, using what techniques will work best for you, though I do have a heavy emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. My communication style is calm and soothing. I want my clients to walk away from their sessions feeling like they have been heard.
I have worked with a variety of ages, starting with as young as 13. My experience also includes 3 years in the addiction field working with those with co-occurring disorders. I also have a passion for working with veterans and their families.
When it comes to setting goals, the clients know what they want to work towards. Even with this said, it can sometimes be difficult for a client to be able to put into words what it is they want to achieve. I believe that goal setting is a collaborative task and will work with the client to help them develop and achieve the goals they set.
