Hi there, I am Clarissa! I know it takes a lot of courage and vulnerability to seek counseling services, so I am glad that you found my page! I have had the joy of working in various mental health settings, like traditional talk therapy, women’s health clinics and non-profit organizations. My clinical experience has given me the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. I also help clients navigate complicated grief and loss, trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, family/relationship, and self-esteem issues.
My approach to therapy is individualized and selective based on the various and evolving needs of the clients that I serve. I often use (but not limited to) therapy approaches such as cognitive behavioral, solution focused, existential, person centered and EMDR. I am also a certified grief educator trained by world-renowned grief expert, David Kessler.
As a first-generation Latina, I strive to create a safe, affirming and judgment-free environment for all groups of people. I am eager to work with individuals from all cultural backgrounds, experiences, and identities with an open and compassionate mind. We will work together to overcome and address cultural and generational wounds.
