It's important to find a counselor you feel safe and comfortable with. In my experience clients find it hard to open up in counseling if they experience the counselor as inauthentic. I remain genuine throughout the counseling experience in order to promote a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. While I see the benefits of specific counseling techniques and interventions, I believe the counselor-client relationship is the most important aspect of counseling. As a counselor, my job is to empower you, assist you in your journey of self exploration, challenge you, and consider the impact of culture and identity
Over the course of my career I've worked with a variety of populations and presenting concerns. I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life, and find working with clients experiencing life transitions and relationship issues to be especially rewarding. In addition, I find fulfillment in working with clients who are in the LGBTQ+ community.
