I have become very interested in the brain's functioning powers and how people can learn to re-wire neural networks, using strategies that can calm, relax, heighten a sense of personal control, diminish the power of old patterns, and strengthen healthy neural pathways. Research now shows that talking about what is causing tension, stress, or discomfort for you is good for your brain. It is good to find a therapist, a trusted friend or clergy worker to confide in and improve your life. I work with children of all ages, adult individuals, and couples and families who are having difficulties.
Difficulties could include adjustment to divorce or other life transitions, coping with traumatic events, depression, anxiety, and all forms of abuse or domestic violence. I am certified in Level II EMDR, recently trained in the Flash Technique, and a member of the EMDR International Association. I also know many other therapies that help with life changes.
I am trained as a Child Family Investigator for the Courts. I offer reintegration therapy for parents who have been absent from their child's life but want to re-establish a relationship.
