Sometimes, life challenges can make us feel isolated, overwhelmed, and like no one could possibly understand. If you're experiencing these feelings and finding it harder to cope, I'd love to partner with you in exploring and improving your situation. I'd like to show you that someone can, in fact, understand. My training – in both Counseling (MS & EdS) and Marriage & Family Therapy (PhD) – makes me uniquely qualified to address a myriad of individual and relational issues. Together, we will use evidence-based methods to increase insight and transform echoes of doubt, pain, and trauma into echoes of resilience and self-worth.
I am passionate about empowering clients and helping them to overcome difficulties using a strengths-based focus and strategies that are judgment-free and tailored to clients’ specific needs. I have specialized expertise in trauma-focused and culturally responsive psychotherapy for women, couples, families, and members of underserved groups.
I also address identity-related issues such as gender, race, relationship status, SES, and sexuality. Social justice concerns are processed when appropriate. This strengthens my understanding of clients with diverse backgrounds and experiences and helps me to facilitate therapeutic success that transfers to clients' everyday lives.
