While counseling involves theories and techniques, I prefer to think of it as a relationship of support and encouragement to help my clients get unstuck in their personal issues or relationship difficulties. I enjoy working with adults, couples, and families who are eagerly seeking change and growth. I am experienced in working with a variety of personal and relational issues: communication, resolving marital or family conflict, intimacy in marriage, affair recovery, sexual issues, practicing forgiveness, parenting, preparing for marriage, developing healthier relationships, grieving loss through death or divorce, resolving/managing anger, anxiety, and depression.
I have provided counseling since 1989, and am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselor in Louisiana. My approach to counseling is tailored to the issues and needs of my clients, and draws upon several frameworks. I am a Certified Emotionally Focused Individual & Couples Therapist.
I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. My Christian faith is foundational in my life and counseling practice. Christian concepts can be integrated into counseling for those who share the Christian faith. I am also experienced in providing counseling for those who do not.
