As a Certified Sex Therapist Supervisor and the Executive Director of the Carolina Sexual Wellness Center, I am passionate about helping my clients improve their sex lives and increase authenticity. I supervise a wonderful group of sex-positive clinicians who share my focus on issues related to sex, sexuality and gender. I love the connections I create with my clients and the bond we create as we work toward change. As a graduate of the University of Minnesota's Program in Human Sexuality Postdoctoral Fellowship, I practice sex therapy from a sex positive perspective. This means that sex is a positive force in our lives and there is a wide variety of healthy ways to express sexuality. We offer individual, family, relationship, and group psychotherapy.
I know how intimidating it can be to take the first step toward facing sexual concerns, but it will not be as bad as you think. You'll come in, we'll talk, and we'll start building the relationship necessary to work through this together. Groups
Out of Control Sexual Behavior Therapy Group
Group therapy is the treatment of choice for Out Of Control Sexual Behavior, and our group offers a sex-positive alternative to the 12-step "sex addiction" model. We see sexual compulsivity as a symptom of deeper issues, so our work is to resolve the underlying issues which eliminates the need for the problematic behavior while helping clients develop a healthy sexuality. Group participants are expected to attend weekly. Since it is a closed group, potential members participate in a four session individual intake process to ensure the group is a good fit for them.
