At Animal-Assisted Therapy of the Triangle, we incorporate animals in therapy when appropriate for the goals of clients. My co-therapists are Beasley (profile picture) and Pepé the axolotl. We have experience working with people of all ages. I am credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), which enables me to diagnose and treat mental health issues, addiction and substance use disorders, and dual-diagnosis cases of both mental health and addiction-related matters.
I'm also inclined to incorporate music, art, and creativity into session whenever helpful in addition to talking, but animals and art certainly dont have to be utilized for productive therapy. I use an integrative approach where I'll tailor appropriate therapeutic interventions to fit the uniqueness of the client.
I aim to provide a supportive environment in which the client and I work on their goals collaboratively. It is important to me that each client is authentically respected with regards to their personal beliefs, cultural background, and every aspect of their identity.
