I work with individuals who feel a full and meaningful life remains befuddlingly out of reach despite all that may be otherwise going quite well. I have worked with medical professionals, social workers, and psychotherapists; artists and writers; professors, ministers, and community organizers. Whether struggling with inhibition, self-sabotage, depression, or anxiety, a common thread amongst those with whom I work is a recognition that everyone could use support in exploring what is occurring beyond our awareness, especially when our efforts to shift distressing patterns on their own have not been fruitful.
I understand we each contain multitudes, and that what is visible on the surface does not come close to telling the whole story. I will follow your lead and honor your agency, while also listening to possible blind spots and areas for potential integration, understanding our psyches are in constant motion (what is meant by "psycho-dynamic").
Most people do not know where to start, and that is okay. I provide a therapeutic container that can hold you and your process, no matter how dark or scary, repetitious or redundant, it may feel. Gentle note: in the "Childhood Pain" Olympics, we all lose. Your suffering is real no matter how much privilege you may currently hold.
