My goal is to help you to resolve the problems that bring you to therapy and to help you to understand the personal and environmental factors that might have contributed to your problems. I draw from both insight-oriented and cognitive-behavioral approaches and I believe that therapy is first and foremost a collaborative partnership where the patient and therapist work together to achieve stability; restore functioning; remedy long-standing, problematic behavior patterns; and develop a platform for lifelong growth, renewed energy, self-development and enhanced relationships. I've been in practice since 1990.
I work with the following conditions: addictions, alcoholism, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, life transitions, problems in living, relationship issues and trauma. I also enjoy helping people to figure out ways to improve their lifestyle management; their self-care and their overall quality of life.
I use a combination of psycho-education, empathic understanding, psychological insight and reality-oriented, practical problem-solving to help people to achieve a strong and reliable internal capacity to manage and enjoy life as effectively as possible.
