Do you feel stuck and frustrated in your relationship? The more you try to talk, the more you get caught in cycles of distance, tension and frustration? Partners often come into therapy thinking to themselves: I can't get it right in this relationship. No matter how hard I try I seem to make things worse between us. Partner's also report feeling: I can't talk to my partner. They get too angry and defensive. Almost immediately we get stuck in blame and defensiveness. We feel so far apart and distant. Still other couples report feeling stuck is isolating silence and tension where talking about "us" is strained and avoided.
As a Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist, I specialize in helping couples gain a deeper understanding of their blocks to communication. Our blocks keep us stuck and unable to make the changes we desire. Together we slow down & look what is happening inside, enabling you to step out of defensive patterns & share more with each other from a deeper place.
I also support couples in creating a safe place to talk about their sexual relationship when there are sexual concerns. Talking about sex can be uncomfortable and awkward, leaving couples stuck in silence. My goal is to help couples come together to face their sexual struggles and gain or regain a sexual relationship which is pleasurable for both.
