They can, however, process their feelings in their play using toys and manipulatives, making art and music, and acting out in dramatic play and more! I see the development of relationships with my clients as the most important element of therapeutic work. From there, with growing trust and a common goal, all things seem possible. I'm a licensed clinical professional counselor offering telehealth appointments to adults (18-65). My specialty is in health psychology. I have in depth experience working with bariatric surgery patients. My experience in the integrated behavioral health field has brought me to work with both mental health (depression, anxiety, body image issues, eating disorders, grief, adjusting to major life/health changes) and physical health complications (obesity, diabetes, sleep disorders). I work with people of all ages to teach tools and techniques that increase personal awareness and encourage full expression. My practice is designed to work with people who feel overwhelmed or "stuck" in their current life situation. I begin with the understanding that everyone has struggles from time to time with primary relationships, work situations, financial stressors, unforeseen change of life circumstances or unresolved grief and loss. Common effects are anxiety, unexplained depression or loss of confidence. When these effects spill over into other areas of function, affecting sleep, clear thinking or enjoyment of regular activities, it is time to do some therapeutic "work".
