Therapy is meant to create positive change in your perceptions and feelings about yourself and your life. The therapeutic relationship requires trust, openness and commitment to change. As a therapist, I provide a safe and confidential environment where you can explore the thoughts, feelings, and associated behaviors that have created the difficult circumstances from which you seek relief. I am trained as a Certified Sex Addiction (CSAT) as well as a Certified Multi-Addictions Therapist (CMAT) under the study of Patrick Carnes.
I work extensively with individuals who are struggling with problematic sexual behaviors that are causing adverse consequences and emotional distress in their lives. I also work extensively with their partners. I use a task model as well as a psychodynamic approach to therapy; also drawing from the most current research.
I have also been training in the Post Induction Therapy (PIT) model for Codependency developed by Pia Melody. This model looks at codependency through the lens of childhood/developmental trauma and how it gets re-enacted later in life.
