My theoretical approach is client-centered in providing a laid back, safe, and non-judgmental atmosphere. I utilize evidence-based practices to support, encourage, educate, and empower my clients. My approach is collaborative in identifying goals and addressing them using strategies that work best for you. Collaboration plays an important role as we work together to increase awareness, communication, personal growth, and healing within yourself and your relationships. I believe it is important to focus on my client’s strengths to assist them in identifying coping strategies to address cognitive distortions and negative behaviors.
I have experience working with children and adolescents, ages 10-18, and adults of all ages from diverse backgrounds, including couples, and families. I have worked with people dealing with trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, ADHD, attachment disorders, and mood disorders.
My experience has provided me with opportunities in serving, directly engaging, and assisting individuals with a wide range of mental health needs in the development of skills to manage emotionally distressing situations and creating a positive life perspective. I incorporate faith into my counseling when it is mutually important to those I am counseling.
