About
Going to a therapist can be one of the most difficult things that a person may have to do. In some cases, this is due to an ongoing mental health issue. Some people have suffered through a trauma or adjustment period, and others just need someone that they can talk to. Regardless of what brings you to therapy, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and trusting of the therapist that you chose. I utilize a client-focused and strengths based approach to address the individual needs of my clients.
I have experience working in various settings, with ages ranging from children to elder adults. I strive to make clients feel safe and comfortable. I understand the importance of the trust required in therapy, and believe that honesty and rapport are essential in the therapeutic process.
I utilize a combination of DBT and CBT therapy, helping client identify maladaptive and self-defeating thinking patterns that perpetuate their symptoms. Through education of cognitive distortions, realization of behavioral patterns, goal development, and coping skills, I strive to help each of my clients achieve a better quality of life.
