Hello, I am Christopher Patchet, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Pennsylvania and West Virginia. As a Navy Veteran, I started working in the field of social work helping homeless veterans gain housing in 2013. I have since been working with individuals on overcoming their barriers to depression, anxiety, and trauma. My goal as a therapist is to help you live a healthier and happier life by teaching skills and giving tools to help you cope and overcome those mental challenges that life can throw at us.
I have my strengths in Trauma-focused therapy. I worked with veterans with PTSD prior to going independent. Since PTSD affects so many aspects of a person's life, my experience is related to depression, anxiety, family issues, couples, work issues, relationship issues, drug and alcohol use, and veteran and military issues.
I believe that therapy is hard. I like to create a calm, nonjudgement zone. I like to get to know the person I'm working with and find the strengths that they have in order to use those strengths to overcome their current barriers. I like to create an environment that encourages a strong rapport between me and the people I work with. Communication is key.
