I am Christopher Montano, a Bilingual Therapist, specializing in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) specifically Disorders of Over control which refers to a cluster of psychological conditions characterized by excessive self-control and rigidity in behavior and emotions. This cluster of characteristics can be seen in disorders such as obsessive compulsive personality disorder, anorexia, avoidant personality, autism, treatment resistant depression and chronic anxiety. These disorders are believed to stem from a common underlying tendency to over control emotions and impulses.
Through my specialized training in DBT and RO-DBT our focuses is on decreasing behaviors that are problematic and increasing skill use. To develop a new way of living and of thinking. DBT offers skills coaching in-between sessions, diary cards that you complete daily, and together we get to the bottom of why change has been so difficult for you.
