Trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and addiction are issues often too intense to cope with alone, especially when shame creeps in and says you are to blame.
I am passionate about creating a safe space where we can face these issues at a pace that you set. It can be intimidating to start. Many of my clients enter therapy for the first time, and I work hard to make sure it is a comfortable and meaningful experience.
Therapy can be a cathartic place where you can speak freely to someone outside of your circle. I work to treat you as the expert of your own life and encourage things you are doing that are already working.
A primary interest of mine is narrative therapy, which is a liberatory framework that assumes from the beginning that you are not the problem. Our work can include exploring stressful stories that you repeat to yourself or ones that were told to you so that we can better understand them and find agency to author your experience moving forward.
I take inclusivity seriously. I am happy to work with members of the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. As a therapist I highly prioritize a lack of judgement, empathy, compassion, and making space for joy and laughter.
