With 28 years of experience in public education and 3 years as a licensed counselor, I bring a unique blend of expertise and understanding to my counseling practice. My background includes teaching Advanced Placement US, European, and World History, which instilled in me a profound appreciation for personal growth, resilience, and the importance of historical and cultural context in understanding individual experiences. I am still an active “reader” for the AP United States history exam with over 10 years of scoring experience.
Having worked extensively in the educational system, I see the pressures that arise with today’s youth as well as adults. My goal is to empower my clients to recognize and realize their strengths, overcome obstacles, and achieve their full potential. My counseling philosophy and education is rooted in CBT, REBT, and ACT based modalities.
My practice is defined from my upbringing playing baseball at the D1 level. This competitive nature coupled with my professional training and a commitment to professional integrity to my clients helps to create a safe, rational way of moving towards future goals.
