I currently have a waitlist. I am a trained psychoanalytical psychotherapist with 38 years of clinical practice. I continue to love what I do. I have a doctorate in Counseling Psychology and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychoanalysis. I work with people who are hurting. My patients wish to go beyond symptom relief and work toward symptom resolution by addressing the core underlying issues. I specialized in treating anxiety/panic attacks, unresolved childhood pain, conflictual relationship issues, heartache, grief, sadness, and trauma. I also treat licensed medical and mental health professionals.
My practice is limited to video therapy sessions via a HiPPA-compliant therapy platform. I am also a psychoanalyst in training at the Pennsylvania School of Psychoanalysis. The therapy I offer is from a view of Modern Psychoanalysis. This approach supports patients in resolving issues and pain and enables patients to live in the 'here and now.'
I support patients to be authentic and resolve unhelpful and painful living patterns, experiences, and feelings attached to painful memories and situations. Psychoanalytical Clinical Supervision Group
This clinical supervisory group via Zoom is for licensed doctoral, and master's clinicians drawn to psychoanalytical and psychodynamic work with adult patients. Supervisees have an opportunity to present clinical cases, receive supervisory feedback and support from colleagues. To support theoretical and clinical skills, the following topics are to be presented: (1) Countertransference (subjective and objective) reactions; (2). Recognizing and Effectively Addressing Transference; (3). Recognizing Projective Identification and Interventions ; (4). Working with Patient Resistances; (5). Interpretations from a Modern Psychoanalytical Perspective. Dr. Garrison is nationally Board Certfied as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) and is a seasoned psychoanalytical clinician/supervisor.
