Hi, my name is Chris Chur. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I'm glad you're taking the step to grow through therapy. The counseling approaches I am familiar with are cognitive-behavioral, humanistic person-centered, psychodynamic, attachment theory, psychoeducation, existential, reality choice, motivational interviewing, Christian Biblical approaches, spiritual formation, marriage and family, and integrative/eclectic approaches to therapy. I would like to promote unconditional positive regard, empathy, and internal locus of control to help you discover a happier, healthier, and more confident version of yourself!
I collaborate with clients and encourage them to create realistic goals both short and long-term by taking healthy small steps in the right direction. I encourage clients to take responsibility and greater control over their thoughts, emotions, behavior, habits, and choices.
During the first session, I will obtain information primarily through general interviewing questions to assess the client's background, stressors, and needs. My hope is that clients leave sessions feeling empowered, encouraged, and hopeful towards transformation, recovery, and healing.
