Through individual, couples, and group therapy, I help people better understand themselves and find more satisfaction in their relationships. You may already know quite a bit about yourself, whether from therapy, reading, or simply thinking about who you are and how you relate to others. I especially enjoy working with people who bring that kind of curiosity to therapy. Together, we can look at what you already know, what still surprises or confuses you, and what makes sense intellectually but remains difficult to change.
My approach is relational, attachment-based, and psychodynamic. With an eye toward your past but feet firmly in the present, we'll look at how your experiences shape what you expect from others, how you navigate relationships, and the assumptions we all make about what others are thinking or feeling.
I've spent 20+ years as a therapist, clinical supervisor, and clinical social work professor at UT, and I deeply enjoy what I do. I'm engaged and direct: I'll ask questions, share what I notice, offer different perspectives, and sometimes challenge you. I bring warmth, enthusiasm, and humor to my work everyday.
