I am a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in empirically supported treatments for trauma-related issues, including post-traumatic stress, depression, and anxiety. I specialize in individual and group therapy for adults who have experienced interpersonal trauma.
I primarily practice from a cognitive-behavioral approach and use a life-span framework to understand how individuals form patterns of thinking about the world and their place within it based on their unique experiences, especially during key developmental periods in their life.
Because therapy involves an intimate relationship, I rely heavily on the collaboration between clients and myself to test existing realities and develop healthier ways of relating to the world. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel respected and understood, and thus ready and open for change.

Traumatic/severely stressful, upsetting events can trigger anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress, and unhelpful ways of coping with the overwhelming effects of such major life crises. Posttraumatic growth involves an intentional attempt to understand and assign meaning to these events, transforming negative effects into positive meanings and change. This group facilitates posttraumatic growth to promote improved adjustment in a newly defined and valued life. Members re-examine events through different cognitive perspectives to reconstruct core beliefs about one's self, the world, and the future to find positive aspects of having endured adversity and to take positive steps in their life.
