Hi there, I'm Christine! My name is Christine Rios, I am Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California with 7 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with anxiety, stress, relationship issues, trauma, depression, and abuse, using evidence-based therapeutic modalities. I have found that my approach works best for adults ranging from ages 18-60. I feel fairly comfortable working with people who are dealing with life stressors that are impacting their ability to function on a day-to-day basis.
I provide that additional support needed to navigate transition periods and to build skills to improve quality of life. My communication style is personable, empathetic, and warm. I like to use humor when it is appropriate and use active listening to ensure each client feels heard and respected.
The first session will mostly consist of going over informed consent, expectations of therapy/therapist, and discussing the reasons you are seeking therapy now. I will spend a lot of time asking questions to gather information about several aspects of your life, building a connection, and most importantly building trust.
