I provide therapy for adolescents and adults with all anxiety disorders using mindfulness based cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). Specifically, I work with people who have obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic with or without agoraphobia, and specific fears such as driving, flying, getting needles, you name it. I integrate mindfulness training with CBT because exposure to what is feared can feel overwhelming without mindfulness training or some other way of weathering extreme fear.
I offer brief interventions that focus on improving your life. Although I do learn about your past and your hopes for the future, much of our therapy energy will focus on your life as it is in the present and on making changes in living that you can implement outside of sessions.
Mindfulness training teaches a person to be present for each moment without unecessary suffering and without all of the wasted energy that occurs in anxiety disorders. Mindfulness helps a person to transform anxiety symptoms into opportunities for growth. In essence, through mindfulness a person can change their relationship wih fear.

Christine Molnar's Groups

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

MBCT is an evidence-based practice that enhances health of mind and body. It not only reduces relapse once people are treated for anxiety, depression, OCD, and other stress-related & exacerbated conditions (e.g.,PTSD), it is also an excellent adjunct to individual therapy that enhances skills needed to succeed with CBT and other therapy approaches. I am on the International Registry of teachers meaning I meet rigorous criteria for training and experience. You can learn more at https://www.accessmbct.com/

META Program

In META's Mindfulness- and Compassion-based Cognitive Behavior Therapy training program interpersonal mindfulness practices cultivate friendly instead of critical relating with both others & yourself. You practice seeing things as they actually are right now, in contrast to how you fear they may be in the future or through the conditioned filters of how they were in the past. By approaching rather than avoiding what is feared internally and externally you discover fear will not destroy you, is impermanent, and outcomes are often different and more manageable than predicted. You practice trusting direct sensational experience rather than thoughts typical of anxiety & depression mind states.
