About
I have advanced training and years of experience helping those with substance abuse problems as well as identifying and dealing with the underlying issues that may drive the behaviors. Addictions often go hand in hand with other mental illnesses such as depression, trauma, anxiety, ADHD and bipolar illness. I also have advanced training in ADHD. My methods are non-judgmental and generally holistic, but I know enough about medications to be able to recommend when they may be needed. Life can lead us anywhere and it is my mission to make that a happier place for us all.
One of my specialties is dually diagnosed patients; those who are often diagnosed with alcoholism or drug addiction for which they are sometimes unknowingly self-medicating. Not understanding just what drives your behaviors can be very frustrating and demoralizing, and we are often able to help the situation greatly.
I began my social work career after 30 years in business and have never regretted it. It is not easy to shock me and my sense of humor is great! My dog Mufassa loves my clients but will stay in the next office if you wish.
