As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I bring 22 years of clinical experience to my private practice. I have been fortunate to work in a variety of settings as a clinician and supervisor, including non-profit mental health agencies, private practice settings, and for the last 8 years as the Lead Education Support Counselor in a school setting. This experience has allowed me to have a better understanding of the challenges in both the home and school settings when children are struggling. I use a variety of clinical interventions and never lose focus on the importance of building a strong relationship with my clients.
As a Registered Play Therapist, my focus is on providing a safe, trusting adult for the child to work through the issue that has brought them to my office. Play Therapy offers a child a unique way to learn to communicate with others, express feelings appropriately, modify behavior and develop problem solving skills.
