About
Ideally, I work with individuals who are 16 years of age and older who are struggling to tell their story, those who need someone safe to listen to them, or those who have had a difficult time articulating all their menu of options might contain. Folks who are best fit are those who have perhaps tried talk therapy over and over and are ready to do some work to look at and address the roots of the issues that continue to show up. I have experience treating clients with childhood and adult trauma and received training in EMDR in 2019.
I would consider my style mixing being real while being kind and understanding. I tend toward a client centered approach because I think you're the expert on you. I tend to focus on client centered therapy and use some CBT, interpersonal skill building and EMDR for trauma. I especially enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ community and consider it my specialty.
"The act of revealing oneself fully to another and still being accepted may be the major vehicle of therapeutic help." -Irving Yalom. I believe therapy is successful when you are comfortable sharing your story with the other human in the room. If we don't trust the person sitting with us, we can't grow to our fullest potential with them there.
