Accepting Clients! Entry to therapy can hold many fears for individuals, but nonetheless you are here and that is worth celebrating. I work with individuals who experienced long-term trauma, including those who had difficult or culturally complex childhoods. It’s important to take the time to understand and make sense of one's experiences to move through it. My ideal client is someone who spent some time in therapy or is brand new to therapy and is hoping to go deeper in one's understanding. I like to remind my clients that what makes therapy unique is it is an external space to explore internal topics, so no topic is a silly topic!
I am trained in EMDR and EFIT to help clients with complex trauma. Clients with this are exposed to long periods of trauma and may struggle with emotional regulation, identity/sense of self, and relationships. I am trained in EFCT to assist couples in emotional reconnection. I provide Walk and Talk therapy for clients to incorporate movements into sessions.
My belief is through the relationship between the therapist and client, the client will take a curious stance on who one is with oneself and others. The journey begins, like the curious paradox states, when one accepts oneself just as one is, then one can change. I want to welcome you to your journey. Welcome!
