Does your mind understand what happened to you but your body doesn’t quite feel settled? Or maybe you can’t make sense of any of it yet. It’s hard carrying around thoughts and feelings in the mind and body from the past; the past feels so much alive in the present as you walk through life. That is how unresolved trauma and emotions often feel. It’s important to help the whole person (body, mind, and emotions) heal from past wounds through a supportive and integrative therapeutic approach.
I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you can feel safe enough to finally heal. We first build a strong foundation of coping skills and resources to support the capacity for healing of past events, which in turn helps the present feel a little lighter and encourages a better future for you and those you're in relationship with.
I use EMDR therapy frequently and have witnessed it facilitate healing in ways that just talk therapy and CBT cannot.
