In life, we typically feel happiest when things are going exactly as we expect. Unfortunately, life and relationships rarely play out this way; leaving us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and powerless to meet our everyday challenges. Making sense of and working through these stuck places can help rekindle love, intimacy, and a deeper connection within ourselves and with the others in our lives, leading to living more authentically. Stuck places might also look like divorce, grief, trauma or loss. I work with adults and adolescents to help gain the self-knowledge and skills to live less stressful and more fulfilling lives.
I work from an Attachment perspective, which in part means that I believe having a genuine connection with you really matters. I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an approach that includes learning how to speak in ways that are both compassionate towards yourself and loved one, and also clear about your own needs and desires.
I graduated from University of Texas in 2015 with a Masters in Social Work, and have worked in both outpatient and inpatient psychiatric settings, with training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Session by session, I will help you befriend your pain in order to move through it and heal from it.
