Christie grew up in Dallas, Texas and graduated from TCA, where she met her husband of over 30 years. Together, they have raised four children, including the unique journey of adoptive parenting. With three adult children and one teenager, Christie understands firsthand the complexity and beauty of family life.
Christie earned her BA from The American University in Washington, D.C., and later attended UT-Austin, where she received her Secondary Teacher’s Certificate and taught high school English at Highland Park HS. She eventually returned to school to pursue her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Christie has extensive experience helping individuals, couples, and families. She has served as a family coach, emotional sobriety coach, crisis intervention team leader, and workshop developer. She has led recovery and marriage support groups, worked closely with adoptive families, and developed programs supporting low-income moms.
She has significant experience in outpatient addiction treatment, helping men navigate addiction and co-occurring mental health challenges, as well as working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families in private practice settings. Christie lives in Dallas with her husband, family and her 2 dogs who think they are the real therapists in the family.
