My approach is practical and nonjudgmental, primarily from Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Reality/Choice perspectives. For couples, I'm trained in Gottman Method, the most research-based model for marriage and couples therapy. Office, video, and phone sessions may be options during the COVID pandemic.

When working with trauma survivors, my theoretical orientation is based on cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and existential therapy techniques, as well as the 3-Stage Trauma Recovery model developed by Dr. Janet Hansen. Dr. Hansen’s model focuses on helping the patient develop safety and stability before addressing traumatic memories. A focus on the mind and body is an important component of my work with clients.
