My background as a Licensed Professional Counselor, certified teacher and school counselor, as well as working for 16+ years with at-risk individuals, from four years to adult, allows me to treat a wide range of clients.

I've worked with adolescence and families for around 25 years in a variety of settings. These settings include being a youth / children's pastor prior to starting my counseling journey. Much of my experience involves working with those that struggle with abuse, depression, relationship conflict, self harming behaviors, legal issues, and behavior problems. Although I am licensed to practice counseling through the State of Texas, I am a Christian and the fundamentals of my practice are in line with traditional Christian faith.

As a TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) Practitioner, I am equipped with techniques designed for children (and their families) who have faced trauma and live with attachment issues. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified Family Life Educator.

My journey in counseling is helping persons surviving trauma in their lives. You may be a Veteran, a Responder, or a family/loved one/friend. You may also be a survivor of child abuse.. Trauma has many forms such as our occupation, abusive past, or it may be a single incident that has occurred ex: vehicle accident, witnessing a violent incident where somebody else was hurt/killed or other extremely upsetting event in life. Heather is a Licensed Professional Counseling Intern with direct supervision from Dr. Dan Clement. She is a graduate of the Masters in Professional Counseling program at Dallas Baptist University. Heather has an Associates Degree in Business, she has worked in the travel industry as a sales professional. In addition, she has worked a Realtor in the local market. While working as a real estate agent Heather felt impressed to pursue counseling. She obtained a Bachelors in Arts and Sciences in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University and went on to complete the masters level counseling program.
