MEN - We're expected to juggle a lot: work, school, relationships, our health, stress, you name! And, those things aren’t suppose to bother us. For a time we can handle just about anything thrown at us and not be phased...till we can't. The facade can only go on for a little while, then, our masks begin to crack. At least that's my story! How about yours? We look one way, feel another, all while stuffing what's really going on deep down and out of sight. We WILL begin to unravel and that’s when we turn to things that help us numb and check-out. In retrospect, those things worked well but now they're just us causing more problems.

Anxiety exhausts, paralyzes, and overwhelms us. Depression leaves us feeling hopeless, worthless, and alone. ADHD can stifle our productivity while crushing our self-esteem. Addiction keeps us in bondage to that which will never truly satisfy. And marital and family relationships that were supposed to serve as secure bases can quickly become sources of tremendous pain and distress. You've tried to overcome these issues on your own but to no avail; you feel stuck and as though you've run out of options. But there is hope!

Therapy is for everyone. At some point in their life, most people find themselves in need of a little extra support…someone to listen without judgement, a space to process, and a non-judgmental relationship that can help them find their own answers. My goal as a therapist is to help create a warm, inviting environment where my clients feel comfortable and welcomed. My style is genuine and real. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker - I specialize in trauma & EMDR I have a specialization in early childhood mental health and attachment, although I don't see as many kids as I used to - I was formerly involved in a lot of court cases related to children and expert testimony. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages and families. I have experience working with dissociative and personality disorders related to trauma.

I work with individuals, couples and families. I have been an LMFT and an Addiction Specialist for over 35 years. I specialize in trauma using EMDR-2, all addictions, relationship issues, marriage and family therapy. I deeply care about helping clients work through and process trauma which improves their life. I have been an EMDR therapist for 25 years. I work from a family systems approach to help clients discover their own identity and be true to themselves. I am committed to helping clients discover how to have the best lives and relationships possible.

I decided to become a therapist because of my own struggles with mental health issues especially as an adolescent and young adult. I want to take these awful experiences and use them as motivation to help others. If you are an over thinker, I believe I can help. I work with engineers, executives, health care professionals, teachers, and pretty much any person who is in a profession that tends to reward perfectionism and over analysis.

We all bear wounds of some kind. Everyone has a unique life story to share. I became a therapist to listen to others’ stories of pain, and work with them to find light in their darkness. For 15 years, I have worked with individuals and families that have suffered from wounds inflicted by others, as well as emotional harm that may be self inflicted. Trauma and dysfunctional family patterns, or damaging thoughts- such as shame, anxiety, and self-defeat- may serve as examples of these wounds. The weight of unresolved emotional and mental pain can be both limiting and exhausting. But there is hope, and these wounds can be mended.

My ideal client is someone who feels that life has lost its way and they aren't sure how to get back on track. Whether the cause is depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, or stress, people need to feel like they have some control over life to be powerful and mental health struggles make it hard to exercise that control.

There was a time that I was so desperate to make my own marriage work that I went back to school to become a Marriage & Family Therapist. I, then, spent the next decade researching human connection. Not only did this research save my own marriage, I have now helped thousands of couples develop a connection that they didn't think was possible.

I have worked with many adolescents, young adults, families and couples desiring to have a better self esteem, coping skills, communication skills, parenting skills, and a trustworthy relationship with others. Many of them are fighting the battle of anxiety, depression, difficult life changes, parenting, victimization, suicidal thoughts, and PTSD. They desire a place of peace, to heal, change, and grow into the family, couple or individual they want to be.
