I am a trauma-informed counselor, specializing in providing support to women 12 years old and up who have experienced various forms of trauma. This includes but is not limited to sexual trauma, developmental trauma, physical trauma, emotional trauma, religious/spiritual trauma, medical trauma, traumatic grief, and secondary traumatic stress.

As a therapist, it is my job to help you understand, discover, and define your story. Our stories create narratives and paradigms that we choose to live by as truth – but not all stories tell truth. Some stories tell lies, distorted truths, and suppress what’s true altogether. I want to untangle your story with you, help you find the truths and light pieces, and gift it back to you in a way that gives you the freedom to live your most authentic life, with vulnerability and courage. With my background in trauma, mood disorders, personality disorders and spiritual counseling, I hope to help you live your best story.

My passion is Christian Counseling with the purpose of helping women and couples heal and step into their God-given purposes. I work with women who find themselves physically, emotionally, or spiritually stuck whether from past or present relationships and significant events, as well as destructive thoughts and habits. I also work with couples seeking to align and connect (pre-marital and marital), reconcile marital discourse, or improve their relationships and roles within the family.

In our busy and stress filled days, the intense feelings generated by everyday life, childhood neglect or abuse, life transitions, separation/divorce and loss of a loved one often turn our busy world upside down. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience providing counseling in inpatient and outpatient facilities. I am licensed in both Georgia #8040 and South Carolina#4132. I have experience working with young children, teens and adults and have specialized training in play therapy. I have a Bachelors degree from Baylor University and a Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling. I work from a cognitive behavioral perspective and provide both individual and family counseling.

Dr. Kathy Hope is a Licensed Psychologist with more than 25 years of counseling and coaching experience. Kathy earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of South Carolina Honors College, a Master's degree in Psychology from Wake Forest University, and a PhD in Psychology from Southern Illinois University. As a follower of Jesus Christ, she knows that God is the cure giver, and that she is the caregiver.

I am a clinical mental health provider working with individuals whom have experienced developmental/sexual/physical/emotional abuse. My research interests include Healthy Sexuality, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and all things EMDR. I have certification both in EMDR and DBT. In private practice, I frequently see clients with anxiety, depression, suicide ideation/attempts, personality disorders, traumas, and a host of other related symptoms.
