I am a licensed psychologist and the clinical director of Sollars and Associates Integrative Counseling and Psychological Services. I have been providing counseling and psychotherapy for over 30 years in the Metro Detroit area and our group practice spans across the state of Michigan. With support, encouragement and expert insight many people begin to feel better after their first session. We provide short-term and in-depth counseling and psychotherapy. Many people tend to bottle up their emotions because they believe that other people would just dismiss their problems. They also fear that people would see them as weak or as a burden. However, everyone should understand that seeking help is never a bad thing to do.

The goal for the clients at Higher Heights Counseling are that he or she identify the issues, develop a plan of action, and then implement that plan. Counseling comes from many different theoretical orientations. I believe that the client or clients have the solutions to their dilemmas within their self. We have the freedom to choose what directions our life takes and the responsibility to take control of that freedom. Therefore, the counselor does not have the "answers" to the client's "problem" but in a facilitator of the process that helps the client take responsibility and action and come to a resolution.

In addition to therapy, I conduct diagnostic evaluations for children & adults to assess concerns including ADHD, Autism, learning deficits, and cognitive executive function deficits. I assist a diverse population overcome their depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, adjustment issues, and more. I help my clients identify clear goals and work toward them. In the process, clients gain insight, understand their thoughts and feelings, and learn new skills and techniques. I understand the importance of medication for patients and collaborate with psychiatrists to ensure the best management and comprehensive care of symptoms for my clients.
