Hi everyone! I am an Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) here in Indiana. I am passionate about helping others navigate difficulties within their life while providing support and insights. I enjoy helping my clients reach their goals and discover new things about themselves. I am continuing to learn more and more about my passions within this field. So far I have found that I am particularly passionate about helping those who are experiencing difficulties in or losses of relationships, friendships, family relationships, and more. I am also passionate about helping individual's work through previous childhood hurt.

Sometimes life can be very difficult to manage and cope and it can be a challenge to find someone who will really listen or know what to do to help. Reaching out to a therapist is a courageous choice and I highly value and care for each client that I counsel. Your story and struggles are important and it is my high privilege that you would trust me in sharing your personal story. Stylistically, I am a present, caring and thoughtful therapist that help clients gain empowerment, containment and goal-setting using effective evidenced-based tools. I am also EMDR Certified to work with clients who have experienced trauma.

I have a passion for helping with building skills that encourage a balanced healthy lifestyle in both children and adults. These skills may help with managing emotions, dealing with anxiety/depression, coping with traumatic experiences, learning social skills, or processing through grief/loss. Learning to be successful in managing emotions and navigating peer/family relationships is a positive tool that can lead to a healthy and happier life. I strive to provide supportive tools to help with gaining emotional health/regulation skills that can be confidently applied to many situations.

My ideal client would be someone who is geared towards helping themselves and needing guidance on how to do so. Someone who has a grasp on the importance of the client putting in the work to truly help heal themselves but needing assistance ensuring they are doing things in a healthy and emotionally intelligent fashion. Talk therapy is very important for clients who even just want to come and vent, which I believe helps the mind unclutter.

I specialize in adult/individual counseling, marital/couples counseling, adventure therapy, divorce support, trauma, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, spiritual development, and men's issues. I work to equip and empower my clients as we journey together towards healing, clarity, and wholeheartedness.

Lisa Duhamell MA LMHC completed mental health counseling and marriage/family therapy training at Indiana Wesleyan University with a Master of Arts in Counseling. She has developed a passion in offering faith based counseling with children and their families to provide hope, healing, connection and support. Lisa specializes with children and adolescents. She brings over 15 years of professional counseling experience to working with children and teens. Lisa has deepened her love and knowledge to provide counseling for parents through some of their childhood wounds and anxiety.

I combine 18 years of experience with an integrative approach to allow you to heal. Two hour sessions allow the time required to fully express your experience and find relief. In addition to counseling and research, I am the first provider in Indiana to offer Biosound Therapy, which can be utilized in combination with Brainspotting. Biosound Therapy consists of a uniquely prepared combination of music therapy, biofeedback, and video content allowing mindfulness.

It’s my passion to come alongside those individuals or couples that have lost their way in life and need a listening ear or a fresh perspective. I firmly believe that every dry and painful season of life can be a springboard into hope for the next. It does not matter who you are, what’s been done or what you have done, there is hope.

When anxiety and depression get the final word in our story, we end up missing out on the life we desire to live. We all want to care for the people we love, experience success, and feel peace, but even our deepest values seem impossible to live out when we feel like we can't enjoy the present. Therapy offers the support we need to focus on what matters to us, even during painful or unexpected transitions. Pulling from acceptance and commitment (ACT), cognitive-behavioral (CBT), and client-centered approaches, I journey with clients as they process their stories and offer practical tools needed to experience relief and authenticity.

My heart has a deep passion to meet clients where they are in their pain and their struggle, to walk with them through the dark and the hard, and to help equip them with the tools they need to find their way onto more solid ground. For most of my life, God has been allowing into my story many elements of grief and trauma. He has continually been faithful to walk me through every ounce of my pain and I want to steward well the story He has given me by helping others through difficulty the way He has helped me. I want you to know I have walked through my own brokenness, and I am not afraid to enter into yours with you.

There is HOPE. No matter what you are walking through (depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship problems, addictions, domestic violence, poor self esteem, grief, etc.).....There is HOPE.

I have experience working with an array of mental health related issues but most of my experience has been working with trauma and the impact that it has on relationships. I have helped many children, teenagers and adults find freedom and healing from the weight of their past and help them to feel closer to the people around them. I work with individuals, families, and couples.

Everyone has their own experiences to bring to the table. In imagining my ideal client, they want to feel heard, have a voice, and matter. They want to see changes and improvements in their lives because they are tired of things spiraling and want to get off the rollercoaster. Their issues could be substance use, trauma, depression, anxiety, etc. When it comes to their needs they may need extra supports, learn social skills, need someone to listen, or figure out healthy ways to cope. Their goals are to find their purpose in life and do it abundantly.
