I'm a licensed therapist in Georgia with over 25 years of Experience. I have worked with a diverse population in various settings. I use Art Therapy, Coaching, Expressive Arts, Mindfulness-Based, Multicultural, Person-centered, Solution Focused, Strength Based, Motivational Interviewing, and Christian Counseling. Some of my specialties are ADHD, anger management, career counseling, codependency, coping skills, family conflict, depression, LGBTQ issues, job stress, peer relationships, women’s issues, school issues, and mood disorders. I use each methodology to help clients develop healthy coping skills to meet their goals.

My name is Brooke and I thank you for considering me to share your life experiences, greatest joys and lowest moments. I consider it the highest honor. I specialize in anxiety, grief/loss, relationship struggles, ADHD, identity formation, trauma and life transitions. I also specialize in Christian counseling, but that is optional to you as I am trained without that aspect as well. My hope is to assess your goals and partner with you to achieve them! I am a compassionate therapist who creates a safe space to be real and meets you where you are without judgment. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Georgia State University and my Master’s in Professional Counseling from Truett McConnell University in 2023. I am under the clinical supervision of Cheryl A. O’Connell-Clinical Director LPC, CPCS, BC-TMH and the site direction of Rebecca Muyres, LPC, RPT-S, CPCS. Life is challenging and is not meant to be walked alone. My desire is to come alongside you as you journey through difficult challenges and experience hope, healing, and abundance in your life.

I hope to serve young adults, children, teens, and their families in making better choices, exploring needs, developing strengths, healing trauma, and finding clarity towards change and growth. I would like to help you by fostering and facilitating change, creativity, and searching for solutions.

I believe an individual has the tools to live the fulfilling life they want to live and I, as the therapist, can help guide him/her achieve his/her goals. I create a non-judgmental therapeutic atmosphere and I make sure to listen to my clients. Throughout my years as a counselor I have had the pleasure of counseling individuals who need help with developing effective coping skills for their anxiety and depressive symptoms. I am also passionate about individuals who are going though bereavement and grief; no one should have to experience loss alone.

I have experience working with individuals with trauma, anxiety, depression, self-harm, perfectionism, and other life stressors in both private practice and hospital settings. I enjoy working alongside clients whether they are working to meet their personal goals for improvement or combating intrusive and challenging thoughts, memories, and behaviors.

I have a passion for supporting children and families in addressing trauma as early in life as possible, including working with young mothers and their infants, and at the source, which in some cases is imprinted in intergenerational practices and narratives. I also help adults identify childhood trauma causing them to feel stuck and struggle in their relationships and attachments. I enjoy coaching parents and caregivers to develop and enhance the emotional connection with their children. I support people in reducing distress and improving relationships by improving interpersonal skills and social functioning.

I'm both an LPC and LMFT who enjoys helping people of all ages and stages including teens adults, couples and families. The goal of my therapy is build trust and a working alliance so together we process unresolved issues and replace present behaviors, emotions and thoughts causing distress with more effective coping and ways of being that empower you to live the life you've always wanted. My therapy styles include CBT, DBT and I'm solution focused and client centered. I make sure you're heard and understood.

DeAnn holds a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Behavioral Sciences from Oglethorpe University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Georgia Board Certified. She is a member of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia (LPCA). Her experience includes working with families, individuals, children and groups in a variety of roles and settings over the past twenty-five years.

As a therapist, I am blessed to witness the power that individuals have to persevere - even thrive - in the face of life's most difficult problems. I know that every patient brings their own courage, strength and skills, though they may not recognize these aspects of themselves. As a Christian, I understand the power of grace, having experienced it in my own life. And, what I appreciate most about the therapeutic relationship is the opportunity to share grace with others while helping them move beyond the emotional, behavioral, or relational issues that keep them from having the life they desire.

My family oriented practice is balanced between adolescents and adults. I work with individuals, couples and families. I use a variety of counseling approaches in order to best fit each individual client and their needs. My goal and desire with every client is to do my best to see the world through your eyes and understand your experience in order to best provide the kind of support and encouragement you seek.
