I am the President & CEO of Genesis Counseling. We have 4 Clinics (San Bernardino, Riverside, Victorville & Ridgecrest). I've provided mental health services as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT #32218) since 1995 for individuals, couples, families of all ages, ethnic and diagnostic categories. As a clinician I offer both day and evening appointments out of several of our different locations. I am also an Ordained Pastor offering Christian Counseling from Biblical point of view. If I cannot help you perhaps one of the clinicians in our various office locations can, including areas of Psychiatry & Psychological Testing.

I'm Dr. Tom, and I'm licensed for independent practice as a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT 111604), the District of Columbia (LMFT200001211), and Maryland (LCMFT, LCM754), and am a professional coach across the U.S. I have provided therapy to individuals and families since 2007. I'm also happily married for over 15 years, and we have 2 young boys.

The decision to seek counseling comes with a level of expectancy, apprehensions and most importantly courage. As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I strive to foster an experience of safety, trust, and partnership as we work together towards the process of change. As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, my goal is to assist individuals, couples, and families as they learn and grow in this ever-changing world. My passion is helping to restore relationships. The relationship can be bonded through marriage, dating, friendship, family ties, or love. I counsel individuals, couples, and families. I work with children and adults of all ages. Individual issues such as anger management, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, co-dependency, etc. are addressed one-on-one. Couples counseling and family counseling involves all parties included. There are no secrets in couples counseling or family counseling; each person is included. My fees are based on 50 minute sessions. Group counseling is available. Referrals are welcome.

Hello and Welcome. Healing takes courage. It may not feel like it, but we all have courage. Sometimes we have to dig a little to find it. As an associate marriage and family therapist, I believe that everyone has the potential to heal and grow. My passion is helping those individuals who have suffered trauma or complex trauma. There are many symptoms that fall under the trauma umbrella such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, self-harm, eating disorders, and many more. Sometimes the shame and guilt that is associated with the trauma or abuse keeps an individual from seeking the help they need and deserve.

I believe that each person’s story is important, and each person has the power to re-write their story. In my practice as a therapist, I will provide a safe space for clients to tell their story. Together, we will develop coping skills, explore different intervention strategies and identify resources as you begin your journey to finding and living the best version of yourself. I have learnt that although therapy involves making oneself vulnerable, therapy is not an event but a process which takes time and commitment.

The focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. I achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. I help individuals focus on the Solution.
